P3255
WysokiHigh-Voltage Battery Module Damage (Block 13) – Weak traction battery cell detected. Code mainly concerns hybrid vehicles (Toyota/Lexus).
OBD-II (EN): High Voltage Battery Module Fault (Block 13) - Weak Traction Battery Cell Detected
Code P3255 indicates a weakening of cell module No. 13 in the high-voltage battery pack of a hybrid vehicle. This may mean natural battery degradation, voltage imbalance between cells, or a fault in the sensors monitoring the HV pack. Due to the high voltages of the hybrid system, diagnosis and repair should be entrusted to a specialized hybrid vehicle service center.
Symptoms
Engine warning light (MIL) and/or hybrid system warning light (READY) on. Reduced vehicle power, limp mode. Decreased energy recovery efficiency (regeneration). Reduced EV range. Possible sudden shutdown of the hybrid system while driving.
Possible causes
• Wear or damage to block 13 of the HV traction battery cells (capacity drop or increased internal resistance) • Voltage imbalance between HV battery modules (pack imbalance) • Damage or poor connection of the HV battery temperature/voltage sensor • Fault in the battery management system (HV Battery ECU – Battery Smart Unit) • Corrosion or loosening of electrical connections in the HV battery pack • Aging of the traction battery (high mileage vehicles)
