OBD-II (EN): High Voltage Battery Pack Fault

Code P3010 signals a fault in the high voltage battery pack of a hybrid or electric vehicle. The cause could be cell wear, a problem with the battery management system (BMS), or a cooling system fault. Due to safety requirements when working with HV systems, diagnosis and repair require a specialized workshop qualified to handle electric vehicles.

Symptoms

Check Engine Light (MIL) or hybrid system warning light on; reduced drive power or entry into limp mode; reduced electric range; warnings on the display about the hybrid system; in extreme cases, complete shutdown of the electric drive and inability to start the vehicle.

Possible causes

• Wear or damage to cells in the HV battery pack (natural degradation, deep discharge) • Fault in the battery management module (BMU/BMS) – incorrect voltage or temperature readings • Leak or damage to the battery pack cooling system (cell overheating) • Open or short circuit in the high voltage circuit (wires, connectors, busbars) • Faulty battery pack voltage or temperature sensor
