Code U1210 means that the SCP (J1850) network controller is not receiving correct data from the passive safety system module – airbags and seatbelt pretensioners. This is most often caused by wiring problems or a damaged control module. If the SRS warning light is on, go to a workshop for diagnosis immediately.
Symptoms
Illumination of the Check Engine or Service Engine Soon light. Possible illumination of the airbag warning light (SRS). The airbag system may be disabled. Potential communication problems on the SCP network.
Possible causes
Damaged SCP (J1850) bus wiring. Poor connection in the airbag control module (RCM) connector. Damaged airbag controller module. Malfunction of another module communicating via the SCP network. Corrosion or damage to the wiring harness near the dashboard.
