U1060
WysokiLoss of communication on the CAN network — manufacturer-specific code (U1060). The control module reports a lack of or break in communication with another vehicle network node.
OBD-II (EN): Lost Communication with Controller (U1060)
Code U1060 indicates a break or interference in the vehicle's CAN network communication — one of the electronic modules is not responding or is sending incorrect data. Causes can include a damaged wiring harness, connector corrosion, or a faulty controller. Due to the complexity of CAN network diagnostics, a visit to a qualified service center with professional diagnostic equipment is recommended.
Symptoms
The 'Check Engine' or MIL light is on or flashing. Possible occurrences: no response to commands from the keypad/switches, incorrect operation of comfort or safety systems (ABS, ESP, airbags), engine power limitation (limp mode), no gauge readings or error messages on the dashboard, loss of automatic transmission function or electrically assisted steering system.
Possible causes
• Damage or corrosion to the CAN bus wires (High/Low) — open circuit or short circuit in the harness • Faulty or damaged control module (ECU, BCM, TCM) — no response on the bus • Poor contact or oxidized connector at the connection point to the CAN bus • Incorrect module supply voltage (below 9 V or above 16 V) causing node reset • Incorrect configuration or software incompatibility after module replacement/programming
