U0320
WysokiSoftware Incompatibility with Power Steering Control Module (PSCM). The code indicates a communication problem resulting from software version incompatibility between the vehicle's main controller and the electric power steering module.
OBD-II (EN): Software Version Mismatch with Power Steering Control Module (PSCM)
Code U0320 informs about detected software incompatibility between the vehicle's computer and the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM), which can result in loss of electric power assist and a heavy steering wheel. The cause may be module replacement without proper reprogramming or firmware update. Diagnosis requires a professional factory scanner – we recommend a visit to an authorized service center or workshop with manufacturer diagnostic software.
Symptoms
The steering wheel becomes heavy or requires increased force to turn (no or limited power assist). The steering system warning light or general malfunction light (MIL/Check Engine) illuminates on the dashboard. Possible EPS (Electric Power Steering) fault alerts. In some cases, the vehicle enters limp mode with limited functionality.
Possible causes
• Software version incompatibility – the PSCM module has a different firmware version than expected by the central ECU (e.g., after replacing the module without updating). • Incorrect or incomplete programming/flashing of the PSCM module after replacement. • Damage or break in the CAN (Controller Area Network) bus hindering data exchange between ECU and PSCM. • Replacing the PSCM module with a non-original (aftermarket) part or a part from another vehicle with different software version. • Corrosion, loose connections, or damaged connectors in the wiring harness leading to the PSCM.
