P2930

Średni

Insufficient EGR Flow Detected. The exhaust gas recirculation system is not achieving the required gas flow during engine operation.

OBD-II (EN): EGR Flow Insufficient

Code P2930 signals that the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system is not delivering the required amount of gas to the intake manifold. This is most often the result of carbon deposit buildup in the EGR valve or passages, less often a sensor fault or vacuum leak. A thorough diagnosis with a scanner and mechanical inspection of the valve will determine the exact cause – a workshop visit is recommended.

Symptoms

Check Engine Light (MIL) on; noticeable deterioration in engine performance and throttle response; increased fuel consumption; possible jerking or rough engine idle; in advanced cases, increased NOx emissions and failed emissions test.

Possible causes

• Blockage or clogging of the EGR valve with accumulated soot and carbon – most common cause. • Clogging of EGR passages or intake manifold due to intensive city driving and short trips. • Faulty or incorrectly operating EGR valve position sensor (DPFE or analog). • Leak or damage to vacuum hoses/lines controlling the EGR valve. • Faulty or leaking EGR cooler causing incorrect flow and temperature difference.

Does code P2930 require professional diagnostics?

The code alone is not enough. To find the cause, you need to read live data, check freeze frame conditions, and compare with vehicle behavior. Book a diagnostic session.
