P0845
WysokiMalfunction in the transmission fluid pressure sensor/switch "B" circuit. The control module (PCM/TCM) has detected an electrical fault in the TFPS circuit.
OBD-II (EN): Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch B Circuit Malfunction
Code P0845 indicates a fault in the transmission fluid pressure sensor circuit (circuit "B") – the vehicle's computer has detected an incorrect electrical signal from this system. The cause could be a faulty TFPS sensor, wiring problems, or low ATF fluid level. If left untreated, the problem can lead to the transmission operating in limp mode – prompt diagnostics by a mechanic are recommended.
Symptoms
Engine light (MIL) illuminated; noticeable changes in shift quality (jerking, delays); vehicle may start in 2nd or 3rd gear (limp mode); possible transmission overheating during prolonged driving in limp mode.
Possible causes
• Damaged or worn Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch (TFPS) in circuit "B" • Open circuit in the signal wire to the TFPS sensor • Short to ground or voltage in the TFPS signal circuit • Damaged, corroded, or loose TFPS sensor connector/plug • Low transmission fluid (ATF) level or contaminated transmission fluid • Internal damage to the hydraulic pressure control valve in the transmission
Affected systems
Does code P0845 require professional diagnostics?
The code alone is not enough. To find the cause, you need to read live data, check freeze frame conditions, and compare with vehicle behavior. Book a diagnostic session.
