C0355

Wysoki

Wheel speed sensor (ABS) circuit error – signal damage or open circuit in the sensor's electrical circuit, causing incorrect operation of the ABS and traction control systems.

OBD-II (EN): Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction

Code C0355 indicates a problem with the wheel speed sensor circuit in the ABS system – it could be a damaged sensor, chafed wiring harness, damaged tone wheel, or worn hub bearing. This fault disables ABS and traction control, directly impacting driving safety, especially in difficult conditions. A quick diagnosis at a workshop with a diagnostic scanner and live-data testing capability is recommended.

Symptoms

ABS or ESC/TCS warning light on the dashboard; deactivation of the ABS and/or traction control (ESP/TCS) systems; possible increased braking distance on slippery surfaces; in some vehicles, activation of the CHECK ENGINE light; occasional jerking or incorrect brake operation during hard braking.

Possible causes

• Damaged or contaminated wheel speed sensor (ABS) – mechanical housing damage, corrosion, or contamination from ferritic brake dust • Open or short circuit in the wiring harness leading to the sensor – chafed wires, damaged electrical connector, pin corrosion • Damaged or worn tone wheel (ring tone wheel / reluctor ring) – cracks, missing teeth, excessive contamination • Excessive axial/radial play in the wheel hub bearing – causes an unstable sensor signal • ABS module (ABS ECU) failure – less common when the mechanical circuit is intact
