Code B1140 signals a fault in the right side airbag sensor circuit (SRS system). This could mean a damaged sensor, an open circuit in the wiring, or a problem with the airbag control unit – in any case, the safety system may not function correctly in an accident. For safety reasons, we recommend immediate diagnosis by an authorized service center or SRS specialist.

Symptoms

SRS (airbag) warning light on the dashboard illuminated or flashing. The airbag system may be deactivated – right side airbags may not deploy in a collision. No visible symptoms for the driver other than the warning light.
